We aim to stay as a group as much as possible. It is expected that groups will fragment whilst on Samsung Home Run routes due to the nature of busy roads, crossings, but we ask Samsung Home Run participants to run in at least pairs, preferably threes. All Samsung Home Run participants travel at their own risk and need to be aware of road users, other pavement users and all road crossings.
Samsung Home Run routes follow the tube/train lines and bus routes, so if you are unable to make it the whole way, simply jump on the tube or bus at the next stop and we will meet you at the end.
It is a good idea to bring the following with you: Oyster card, bank card and mobile phone. You can leave the rest of your belongings in the bag carrying service and collect it at the end of your run.
You will also need your running kit – for example; running shoes, shorts/leggings, t shirt/top. As an outdoor programme you should consider the seasons, weather and temperature and bring with you appropriate clothing.
Running is an outdoor pursuit and we will run in many different conditions, if safe to do so. If the weather or conditions are not suitable to run in, we will send an email before the start of the run. Details will also appear on our website and Facebook and Twitter pages, so keep checking if you are unsure.
The weather is unpredictable and may change en route. We recommend that you wear appropriate clothing for the likely conditions.
The group will be running at a comfortable pace. If you are unable to sustain the pace of the group then you can continue at your own pace. The lead runner will always run at the pace of the slowest runner so you will never be left behind.
Samsung Home Run encourages all runners to pair up along the route so you are never left on your own. If you get into any difficulty on the run just call the Samsung Home Run mobile on 07908 273459 and we can guide you back to the end destination.
If you wish to run faster, further or a different route than the designated Samsung Home Run you can do so. Just inform the lead runner and make sure you are at the end station to collect your bag by the stated cut off time.
Our focus is not on the speed of the run, but more on the enjoyment of the commute home. All Samsung Home Runs will be run at a comfortable pace, allowing runners to relax and enjoy the commute home. We don’t use running jargon – so we won’t be stating a set minute-mile pace, but we will do our best to run at the level of the majority of the group. The run leader will stay at the back of the group and will run at the pace of the slowest runner. Samsung Home Run is not designed for the serious or elite runner; it is designed to help get people home in an enjoyable and safe way.
You must arrive at the Samsung Home Run meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the run. The bag carrying service will depart 5 minutes before the start of the run. Samsung Home Runs will leave promptly and the lead runners and bag carrying service will unfortunately not wait for any late comers.
All Samsung Home Runs will be led by an experienced runner who will guide you on your Samsung Home Run route.
Firstly, you need to register. As a registered Home Runner you can book onto any Home Run up until 4pm on the day of the run. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Home Run will not register or book runners at the start point.
Home Run is currently a free service. Join us to get fit and get home for free! Your journey starts here.
Your t-shirt will be given to you at the meeting point at the beginning of your first run.
Home Run is currently offering a free service for ALL runners.
We would love Home Run to become a free service supported by sponsors. However, we may have to start to charging for this service in the future. If we do ever charge for the service, we hope to keep any charges to a minimum, maybe even as little as the cost of a tube journey! But join us now while it is free and enjoy your commute!
If you have booked onto a run but are no longer able to make it, log in to your account before 4pm on the day of the run and cancel your space. The Home Run you booked on may be full, so letting us know will mean someone else can take part.
Once you have booked on to a Samsung Home Run, you simply need to turn up to the meeting point in your running kit where your name will be ticked off on a register and you will receive your free t-shirt. You will then be able to drop your bag with the bag carrying service and be ready for an enjoyable commute home.
You can book onto a run any day before the run date. The deadline for booking onto a run is 4pm on the day of the run.
Yes you can. The Samsung Home Run routes are designed to be direct and follow the tube lines. They are also designed to allow a novice runner to slowly build up their distance by using the tube/train/bus when they are either not able to keep up or are not able to complete the distance.
If you are an experienced runner you can run your own route and collect your bag at the stated time and location. However, you must be aware of the bag collection cut off times as if these are missed you will have to collect your bag during office hours at our central London head office from the following day.
Yes absolutely. The great thing with Samsung Home Run is that you can run the Samsung Home Run route and then continue your journey homewards after picking up your bag. You can continue to run or take the tube/train/bus to wherever you live.
You can let us know what route you would like to run by visiting our your route page. Get your friends and colleagues to register and select their route. When we have enough people on one particular route, we will start running that way!
Yes you can if you run to the end of the route to collect your bag. Otherwise you can always carry your bag yourself. The bag carrying service often takes a different route to the Samsung Home Runners and are often slower/the same speed as the runners. Therefore, unfortunately, we can only have one bag collection point.
You can bring more than one bag, but we will only be able to carry one of them for you.
Home Run will carry your bag for you. Just bring your bag to the start point, we will take it from you and it will meet you at your end station ready for collection.
Yes. Each Samsung Home Runner is only able to submit one bag per Samsung Home Run. The bag (and contents) must be no more than 50cm (H) X 35cm (W) x 20cm (D) and no more than 5kg in weight.
